Polypropylene bristles handle rubber removal on asphalt runways without pitting the surface. They flex around aggregate and sweep clean without gouging.
Steel wire bristles are specified for ice, compacted snow, and heavy debris on concrete runways. The wire cuts through material that PP would skate over.
