This brushless classic cow brush is an automatic rotating brush driven by a brushless DC motor instead of a brushed one. The Zhenda Classic Cow Brush uses a brushless motor plus an adjustable steel bracket that fits both calves and mature cows. Designed for mixed-age herds and operations that want long motor life. Read on to learn how cow brushes impact productivity in dairy barns.
Brushed motors are cheaper up front. They heat up, jam under load, and wear out carbon brushes every 12–18 months. Brushless motors run cooler, draw less current, and last significantly longer — typically 2–3x the service life of brushed equivalents in the same barn conditions.
For a herd running 12+ hours a day, the motor is the part that fails first. Brushless is the difference between replacing a motor every year and replacing it once every three years.
Calves need brushes closer to the ground. Mature cows need them higher. A fixed-height brush serves only one size, so most barns end up buying two units.
The Classic Cow Brush uses a steel bracket with a tool-free height adjustment. Lower it for young stock, raise it as they grow. One unit covers the herd from weaner to mature — without buying a second brush.

The brush starts the instant a cow presses against it and shuts off after the cow leaves. No idle power draw, no constant motor wear. For farms running 24-hour barn lighting, this is what keeps the electricity bill from tripling.
Traditional column-style brushes only pivot up-and-down. The Classic Cow Brush swings through a wider arc, reaching the back, tail, and sides — areas cows can’t scratch against a wall or fence. That extra coverage is what makes the difference between “cows use it sometimes” and “cows line up for it.”
What is a brushless cow brush?
It is an automatic rotating brush driven by a brushless DC motor. Brushless motors run cooler, last 2–3x longer than brushed motors, and draw less current.
Can one brush fit both calves and mature cows?
Yes. The Classic Cow Brush has a steel bracket with tool-free height adjustment, so you lower it for calves and raise it as the herd grows.
How many cows does one Classic Cow Brush serve?
About 50 cows per unit, similar to other single-head models in the Zhenda range.
How long does the motor last?
Brushless motors typically run 2–3x longer than brushed equivalents in the same barn environment — usually three or more seasons before service.
Does the brush start automatically?
Yes. The touch-activated sensor starts the motor when a cow presses the brush and shuts it off after the cow leaves. No manual operation needed.
What maintenance does it require?
Bristle cylinder replacement every 18–24 months in a 50-cow pen. The brushless motor and bracket do not require scheduled service.
